Useful Ping Utility

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/multiple_ping_tool.html

PingInfoView is a small utility that allows you to easily ping multiple host names and IP addresses, and watch the result in one table. It automatically ping to all hosts every number of seconds that you specify, and displays the number of succeed and failed pings, as well as the average ping time. You can also save the ping result into text/html/xml file, or copy it to the clipboard.

This is quite handy if you have an extensive list of Hostnames that you need to quickly identify what is active.

Windows 7

I have used Windows 7 extensively at home for the last few months and can say its agood improvement on XP and a drastic improvement on Vista.

Noticable improvements:

Improved boot up time and  automated connectivity.

Diagnoses and resolves technical issues alot easier with the troubleshooter, XP is not helpful at the best of times.

Inceased browsing speed, IE works very fast depending on connection.

Some nice new features

Graphically impressive

Easy to use

The Run command has an active serach function which is really useful for finding things quickly.

More control over devices

Windows 7 centralizes control of all devices. The controls all appear in a place called Device Stage.

Do have an issue with the the Intel Graphics accelerator it kept constantly crashing the graphics driver and blue screening the laptop, updated the  Intel graphics driver and the problem does not occur as much as it used to.

I did update Windows 7 onto a Dell D630 Lattitude laptop which is a good spec I would say an older model wont handle Windows 7 very well!?!

Over all I think its excellent and alot faster than Vista or XP!

I will buy a MAC one day though! Im sure of it! ; )

Windows 7 RTM.

Check out the link. Be interesting to see if Microsoft can improve on the DISASTROUS Vista! Would not be hard really! Suppose it could work out Vista users will see the changes in 7 as a dramatic improvement to Vista and think its the bees knees when actually it might be a slight better modification to the XP build! Well, were going to find out soon enough!

Official Security Update for Internet Explorer out now.

Microsoft just released the official security update for Internet Explorer to address the serious browser exploit that it is experiencing currently,so if you’ve running IE it would probably be wise to download it!

The patches are accessible in a variety of different downloads depending on what version of IE you’re using and what OS you have, some of the downloadsare not all done yet, but I presume they will be there shortly!
