UFC 72 Fightcard

Rich Franklin vs. Martin Kampmann
Forrest Griffin vs. Hector Ramirez

Jake O’Brien vs. Tom Murphy
Marcus Davis vs. TBA
Jason MacDonald vs. Rory Singer
Ed Herman vs. Scott Smith
Tyson Griffin vs. Clay Guida
Eddie Sanchez vs. Colin Robinson
Dustin Hazelett vs. TBA

Highlighted the three fights id like to see. The card is not particularly starstruck which leaves me a little bit whimsical about spending 160 big ones on a ticket. UFC 70 at Manchester was great. It had big names and  some really great fights.I think a few  big  names should be thrown in the mix to liven this affair up. I cant imagine a UFC poster promoting this fight with Eddie Sanchez event or Hector Ramiraz! No offence guys Im not doubting your fighting status just your UFC star prowess.

We got to see Crocop, Bisping, Arlovski, Congo, Silva, Gonzago and some graet Undercard fights. Id get to see Rory Singer and Ed Herman,, Marcus Davies and Jake O Brien at UFC 72. No thanks.

WordPress New Servers!

Very impressive……

Worddpress is going through some infrastructure changes most noticably:

  • Migrated out of San Diego
  • Brought online almost 100 new servers in 3 new datacenters — Dallas, TX, San Antonio, TX, and San Francisco, CA
  • Tripled the database hardware behind WordPress.com
  • Now serving WordPress.com blogs out of 3 datacenters in real-time
  • Akismet is now served from 2 datacenters

Thanks for this Barry its good to see how your business side works.

UFC 70: Nations Collide on the Horizon

Its on the cards its only a couple of days away I have been working away and have not got away for a while but this weekend I will be drinking beer and shouting wildly at UFC 70 in Manchester. The card is as follows:

UFC 70: NATIONS COLLIDE

MIRKO “CRO COP” vs. GABRIEL GONZAGA
MICHAEL BISPING vs. ELVIS SINOSIC
ANDREI ARLOVSKI vs. FABRICIO WERDUM
FORREST GRIFFIN vs. LYOTO MACHIDA

LIVE FROM MEN ARENA SATURDAY, APRIL 21

The following is a little bio for the event from UFC.COM

“Headlining UFC 70 is Croatian superstar Mirko “Cro Cop” vs. Gabriel Gonzaga.  The main card also features Belaruse heavyweight Andrei Arlovski vs. Fabricio Werdum and Forrest Griffin vs. Lyoto Machida. The event will also mark the homecoming for Britain’s own Michael Bisping, the winner of the most recent season of the hit reality show, The Ultimate Fighter® 3 which airs on Spike TV in the US and on Bravo in the UK.

The Manchester show is the first of a series of high-profile events to hit Britain this year, following the announcement that the UFC now has a fully functioning London-based office. The UFC is also looking at expansions through Europe with a number of large-scale live events which will be screened live in the UK on Setanta pay per view.”

Is Crocop being served more fodder with Gonzago or Gonzaga or whatever his name is. I dont know I have seen some youtube clips  and his no slouch but I dont think his a serious threat to the Croatian ace. I am kind of hoping for Randy and Crocop to battle it out mostly because I want to see how Randy would play him or what vulnerability he would play on. Kevin Randleman gameplaned Crocop to the max so is it possible for Randy to follow suit. Who knows!

Arlovski is looking to return to glory how arousing is that. Looks like his out to put a show on for this event. Bisping is such a likeable character and  an awesome fighter so its going to be graet to see him fight the veteran Eric who I dont think has a wish in this fight.

Anyhow Il take loads of photos and video footage and Il be putiing all up here.

 Courtesy of UFCJunkie:

Weigh-ins for Saturday’s “UFC 70: Nations Collide” take place Friday at Bridgewater Hall on Lower Mosely Street.Doors open at 12:45 p.m. local time for the event, which is open to the public.Free tickets to the weigh-ins are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans will need to get a  wristband in the foyer of the Bridgewater Hall starting at noon on Friday. The first fighter is due on the scales at 1:30 p.m.

So first stop is the weigh ins to eye up the fighters, see what shape there in and the stand downs between the rivals. So hopefully If I get all my stuff booked into the hostel in time il make this if not at least il have a chance to recover from my hangover from the night before. Bless!!!!!!
